Chumma Devi lives in Parsari and was the first artisan we began working with. She supported us immensely during field visits and welcomed me with delicious home-cooked local meals every single time. Along with her craft, she manages a farm and runs a small shop.

Born and raised in Parsari, Maghi Devi is full of life and always joking around. She lives independently with her cow and calf, caring for them with deep affection. She prefers village life and refuses to move to Dehradun, even though her family lives there.

A true all-rounder, Kamla Rawat is always ready to take on a challenge. She is one of the few artisans who still practice the art of natural dyeing. She also serves as the village midwife and has assisted in the birth of many children.

You will always find Basanti Devi busy with one task or another. She enjoys staying productive and is constantly eager to learn and improve her skills.

A happy-go-lucky spirit, Guddi Devi creates uniquely beautiful designs. She travels to Pauri, where she runs a small group and teaches rug-making to others.

Her warm smile will instantly win your heart. Sukri Devi is known for her precision and for crafting exceptionally neat and detailed designs.
